An ample helping this week, including some corkers!
Release Date 28 March 2008
God Of War: Chains Of Olympus - £24.99 – Buy From Play.com
Possibly THE most anticipated PSP release of the year so far. We told you about it here and here, then brought you some screenshots here. Brush up on these, if you need to, then get down the shops and buy it!
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus - £12.99 – Buy From Play.com
A bit of an odd one this, as it’s the best of the previous MGS Portable Ops, supposedly improved, with a few extras and chuck on the shelves at a knock down price. It seems to be heavily geared towards Multi-player play, via both Ad-hoc and Infrastructure modes and the ever popular game sharing (one cart, multiple players). Probably one for hard core MGS fans or players who don’t have the previous release.
WWII: Battle Over The Pacific - £11.99 – Buy From Play.com
A promising looking WWII flight sim, that offers the choice of flying fighter or bomber missions. We’re promised detailed and realistic graphics, unlock able planes and at this price, has to be well worth looking at.
Warriors Orochi - £17.99 – Buy From Play.com
A hack and slash title with a difference, that being the incorporation of a ‘tag team’ system. This title is a cross-over from the earlier Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series’ of games. This means there are a choice of 77 playable characters from the games and any 3 can be combined into a “team” at any one time. While one is fighting, the other 2 can be recuperating… sounds interesting.
Coded Arms: Contagion - £24.99 – Buy From Play.com
For me, this is the best FPS on the PSP. It follows on from the original Coded Arms and it does it in style. It’s a futuristic shooter that will be familiar to anyone who played the original, but it offers top class graphics, unique weapons and a story line which sees you looking for a missing squad. I’ve been lucky enough to play a copy of this for a short time, but it’s top of my list to purchase!
Riviera: The Promised Land - £24.99 – Buy From Play.com
An RPG which boasts over 30 hours of game play, multiple endings and “exquisite hand-drawn graphics. It also includes an all-new dungeon and episode exclusively on the PSP, which seems to be a growing seller nowadays, exclusive levels are obviously the flavour of the month.
